WEAVING
VOICES
Braid is a Bristol-based poetry performance group led by Kaycee Hill and Kate Noakes. We are united by a shared passion for words and storytelling, bringing together perspectives from different generations.

Braid is a Bristol-based poetry performance group led by Kaycee Hill and Kate Noakes. We are widely published poets and have multiple performing credits to our names.
We weave our words and voices into thematic readings, forming a braid with our specially invited performer(s). For 2025 and 2026 our poetry shows are oneof two: The New Nature of Flight, and Our Sonic Inheritances. If you have another topic in mind, please ask.
We offer different types of performance: full readings, with or without guests, which we often organise ourselves, and readings at poetry nights. We also offer generative writing workshops on a variety of themes, including short readings, if desired.

UPCOMING
From dancehalls, grime raves, to prisons, kitchens and gardens, Kaycee Hill’s poems excavate an archive of memories with synaesthetic dexterity.

I’m building a new website and it’s absolutely ridiculous how valuable your content has been.
Michael Riddering
Kate Noakes’ poems sparkle with striking images and mischievous humour yet are always dart-precise when articulating the human condition.”
